Will County members of Congress wish Trump well after positive coronavirus test (October 3, 2020)

Will County area members of Congress wished President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump well after they tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Shortly before midnight on Thursday, the president announced on Twitter that he and his wife had tested positive after a staff member also tested positive.

U.S. Rep. Bill Foster, D-Naperville, tweeted on Friday morning that he wished "the President and First Lady a full and speedy recovery." The congressman, who has criticized Trump for flouting public health guidance in combating the pandemic, also added, "Everyone please wear a mask."

U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Channahon, tweeted Friday he was, "Praying for our President & First Lady and wishing them both a swift & safe recovery."

U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski, D-Western Springs, tweeted Friday he was, "Wishing the President and First Lady a smooth and speedy recovery as they battle COVID-19. My prayers are with them, their family, and the White House medical team as they work to address the virus and prevent further spread."

Trump tweeted, "We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!"

Over 200,000 Americans have died from COVID-19.
