Rep. Lipinski Announces $206,428 Grant for Oak Lawn Fire Department (July 15, 2014)

Congressman Dan Lipinski (IL-3) is announcing that the Oak Lawn Fire Department has been awarded $206,428 through the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.  The grant will be used to purchase four CPR Compression Machines and four Power Assist Stretchers for their ambulances.

"Federal funding is needed to meet the increased demands being placed on our nation's first responders," said Rep. Lipinski.  "This grant will allow the Oak Lawn Fire Department to purchase much needed new equipment.  In doing so, they will be able to continue to build upon their already impressive record of service while improving the safety and quality of life of area residents."

The Assistance to Firefighters Grant program provides needed federal funds to fire departments and emergency medical service organizations in order to improve the response capabilities of our nation's first responders and the safety of our communities.

During this Congressional term, Lipinski has assisted the Burbank, Chicago, La Grange, and Western Springs Fire Departments in receiving grants for equipment and services.
