Lipinski Announces $861,280 Grant for Burbank Fire Department

Congressman Dan Lipinski (IL-3) is announcing that the Burbank Fire Department has been awarded $861,280 through the Department of Homeland Security's Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.  The grant will be used to help purchase new portable radio units and equipment training.

“Our first responders play a critical role in keeping our communities safe,” Rep. Lipinski said.  “These much-needed new radios will help keep these brave men and women safe, while also helping them to better serve the residents and businesses of Burbank and the surrounding area.”

The Assistance to Firefighters Grant program provides needed federal funds to fire departments and emergency medical service organizations in order to improve the response capabilities of our nation's first responders and the safety of our communities.
